Crimes That Are Considered Domestic Violence

Domestic violence or domestic abuse can take many forms. It can be bruises and broken bones, but that is not always, and not usually, the case. Domestic violence is often seen when one partner exercises power and control over the other. Getting the courts to understand this concept can be difficult. In family law, it is especially important to make the Court understand domestic violence when the victim has children with the perpetrator. Perpetrators of domestic violence can continue their abuse of the victim through the children or turn their abuse to the children if they haven’t already.
